@animeirl to be honest, I want Israel and Palestine to be gone so nobody can claim that place.

@godemperorofdune @animeirl if wars could be solved that simply there would have been no need for this Wonder Woman movie.
@animeirl OMG every Israeli citizen has to join the army. Stop simplifying an incredibly complex topic to a soundbite.

@olleicua is every israeli citizen also required to talk about how great the IDF is on facebook or did you not bother to look at the image?

@animeirl Um.. she's covering her eyes in front of some candles with a kid. I'm going to need more context than that if you want me to understand why you believe she supports genocide.
@animeirl Like.. she worked for the IDF (because she had to) supporting it just means she found a way to justify that to herself and idk if she came up with a good way or not but its a far cry from supporting genocide. The WW movie is about the moral complexities of war. Maybe go watch it..
@animeirl I did. It says nothing about genocide. She explicitly advocates for protection against horrific acts. So, at least ideologically, it's clearly a simplification to say that she supports genocide. Perhaps she has been indoctrinated by a military system that is involved in genocide (there are several parts of that that sound like a stretch to me but I'm not an expert) but again, not something we can or should pin on her. She had the misfortune of being born in the middle of a nation at war and (much like Wonder Woman) she had the courage to try to do something about it instead of cowering on social media looking for celebrities to call-out in overly simplistic ways.

@olleicua trying to do something about it by participating in genocide? nice.

@animeirl I was referencing the movie there, seriously its a good movie and going to see it is like.. the opposite of supporting genocide. It's a movie about a Roman Goddess of the moon stopping a Greek God war from slaughtering all of humanity.
@animeirl By referencing (and implicitly discouraging people from seeing) a movie. Why not talk about what's really on your mind: the IDF, which I agree with you, is a giant problem.
@animeirl Like seriously, try to take a step back here. How can you expect someone who is in the IDF (in this case not by choice) to not be exposed to the very worst aspects of Hamas and consequently have a strongly negative opinion of Hamas. Blaming accomplishes nothing besides hurting a movie that has much more complex and valuable things to say about the subject of war than your toot.

@olleicua no matter her reasons are it doesn't change the fact she supports a genocidal apartheid force

@amsomniac @animeirl Amsomniac, your interpretation of  the word "supports" here is even vaguer than animeirl's .. also, for animeirl's benefit amsomniac's reply is ROT13 encoded for spoiler reasons. Seriously though, calling the IDF genocidal is not an argument. I mean maybe they are but you haven't backed this up with any evidence so you are just posturing for the sake of calling out Gadot which accomplishes nothing. It's a movie that is well worth watching and fact that one of the many people who worked on it is possibly on the wrong side of a very complex conflict is not a good reason not to see it
@olleicua @animeirl supporting something by literally killing people for it seems like a pretty straightforward kind of support to me
